Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect during my first session? Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what has brought you to counselling, your goals, and any questions you have about the process. There is no pressure to share everything at once, we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
What is your approach to counselling? I take a collaborative, strength-based approach that is tailored to your unique needs and goals. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Somatic Attachment Therapy, and other evidence-based approaches, we'll work together to understand your experiences, build on your strengths, and develop practical strategies that support lasting growth.
How do I know if counselling is right for me? Counselling can be helpful if you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for support as you navigate life's challenges. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, workplace stress, relationship concerns, or a major life transition, counselling offers a space to gain clarity, develop new skills, and create meaningful change.
Do you offer a free consultation? Yes. I offer a free 20-minute consultation to give us an opportunity to meet, discuss what you're hoping to achieve through counselling, and determine whether we're a good fit to work together. It's also a chance for you to ask questions and learn more about my approach before booking your first session.
